Bankole Thompson will moderate Wayne State University Law School's inaugural Good Governance and Opinion Lecture Series conversation with the honorable Ray Reynolds Graves, former federal bankruptcy judge on the theme "Bankruptcy and Detroit's Restructuring: Can the Court Guarantee Financial Viability?" on January 16, beginning at noon.

Bankole Thompson will serve as the Master of Ceremonies during a special celebration for the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., January 20, 5p.m. at the Atrium of the Cobo Convention Center hosted by the Rev Jesse Jackson Sr. and the Rainbow PUSH Automotive Project to mark the opening of the 2014 North American International Auto Show.

Bankole Thompson is the keynote speaker at the February 14, 2014 Winter Commencement for the U.S. Department of Labor education and training center in Detroit called the Detroit Job Corps Center. The Job Corps is an education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Job Corps program is authorized by Title I-C of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The center graduates students ready to enter the job market with employable skills.
